What makes senior moves different?
Many different factors can affect a Senior move. Such as downsizing from a larger family home to a smaller space. This requires careful consideration of what to keep, sell, donate, or discard. Emotions can also happen through a transition from a home to an assisted living facility. This is why KP Movers and Hauling’s offers specialized services tailored to the unique needs of older adults. What if I am unable to attend or need specialized help with a senior move?
We have a Senior Moving Manager available for hire at KP Movers and Hauling’s. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and experienced in organizing, sorting, downsizing, professional packing, and setting up of the new residence. Ask us today about this specialized service. Contact Us
What's included in the hourly rate?
We don’t charge extra on top of the hourly rate. These rates are also done in 15 minute increments at the end of the job so you are not paying for unused time. If we are packing, boxes and materials are charged according to use.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes we are (a) fully operational business with a standing business license and insurance.
Do you help with loading/unloading rental trucks and storage PODs?
We will help with any loading or unloading jobs. This is our labor only option available to all of our customers.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, debit, and all major credit cards. We also accept checks but do an electronic charge on the completion of services.
When does the clock start?
The clock typically will start when we leave our location and ends when the last items comes off the truck or when the customer is satisfied with all placements.
Can I leave clothes in my drawers?
It is our request that you do not leave clothes in your drawers if you have a 2-story home with a stairwell. Keep in mind we do (use) shrink wrap, moving blanket(s), and band each piece of furniture so don’t worry about dresser drawers coming open during the move.
What is a speciality item charge or over sized item fee?
Gun Safes, Pianos, Hot Tubs, Concrete Planters, Aquariums, and Gym Equipment are an additional charge. Every licensed and insured moving company will have this listed in their terms and conditions. We do not move Grand/Baby Grand Pianos or reassemble saunas.
When should I book my move?
Do I need insurance to cover my move?
Even though our movers and packers at KP Movers and Hauling’s take great care to prevent and avoid any damage or loss to your belongings, there can always be unforeseen incidents. If you think that your move needs more than the regular minimum insurance per pound, please contact one of our professional moving consultants and they will help you to find the appropriate insurance coverage for you.
How accurate will the estimate from my moving company be?
It is critical that you provide as much detailed information as possible when receiving a quote from one of our professional movers. Excluding to discussing additional items that need to be tranported, extra stops to different addresses, or not having everything ready on moving day can increase the cost of your move.
Do we hold loaded trucks overnight if needed?
Yes we do! Should you need a load one day and unload the next or a few days out from the load we will care for your items with our overnight storage options. A fee will apply for this service.
Do we break down beds and hook up appliances?
Everyday! Our team comes prepared with a basic set of tools to help disassemble and reassemble items like beds as well as unhook and hook up appliances (unfortunately we are not able to connect or disconnect gas appliances).
When do I pay for my move?
At KP Movers and Hauling’s we prefer to wait and ask for the payment after the work is completed. Long distance moves do require a down payment to begin the process of loading and transport of goods.
